hearts

I rarely make holiday cards but this year was moved to create a few collagraph plates and thence the prints for cards. This works nicely for easy to replicate, yet "original" (you can feel the paint with your finger) cards. On this one I later added the stenciled rectangles.

Each one comes out different. There are really two hearts on this plate, but I like the sort of modernesque feel to the top blurred heart.

Sending prayers for Haiti earthquake victims.

These are pretty. You seem to be having fun with these. Yes I woke up to hearing about that devastating earthquake. So horribly sad. Life can sure change big time in just 45 seconds. Makes us apprecate life in the 'now' time. I pray they get lots of help.

Life is so unpredictable. I've been glued to the news for the last two days. Horriffic. Lots and lots and lots of prayers are necessary.

Your cards are so clever. It looks like you know how to have fun all by yourself, Suki. I too am in the process of making hearts. I've always loved hearts.

Wonderful collagraphs! You do well with those.

I got my lovely card today. I really like the collage (and the message.) Thank you Suki.

I did hear a thaw was coming in the next couple of days followed by more bitter cold which would refreeze everything. I'm not sure if the thaw will make it as far north as you. Fingers crossed!

Sounds like you had a delicious dinner with your son ;)

Suki, thanks for sharing those collographs, I love the second one, with the abstract heart, bleeding, or growing, or expanding, or going fuzzy, or being wrapped up, or melting with hot love, or flowing away...:)
have a wonderful day
love

I love your bleeding hearts...they make an incredible statement, especially with the devastation in Haiti and surrounding areas. So terribly sad, so many lives lost...

Suki, your parcel will take some time to get here, as it will be tied up in customs for a time. Please don't worry...I will let you know the instant it arrives. And thank you, I am looking forward to it!

I was in tears yesterday about Haiti, so shocking, so many lives gone.

You have a great blog here. I like checking out travel blogs much like yours at times. I have a blog myself which I hope will be a great resource for those looking to go on vacation. I want everyone to get that "vacation feeling" every time they come to my site. You know what I'm talking about.

I'd like to exchange links with you to help spread some traffic around between each other. Please let me know if this is possible. Until then, keep up the good work.

wow suki, it is so much fun for me to see what you come up with. who couldn't fall in love with these hearts? and i see you've inspired annie.

how are you? i hope your year is looking pretty even sailing so far. i wish the snow on the ground here would melt, if just for a little bit and then i would be okay with a giant snowstorm that closed everything down.

The subject matter 'heart' is very dear to me and I wanted to extend my sincere gratitude for your words. I know it was not an easy post to have comment to because of the subject matter. Each comment that was left I cherish and hold close.

I think you tapped into why some become poets and artists.

One day I will have walked from darkens, until then I must learn to see what a blind person has already discovered . . .

Warmest regards,
Egmont
