another walk around the farm

I don't know what these are but there are a lot of them.

I wonder if this is a little well or if water just gathered in the rocks. This area had been hidden before my bro and son cut down a lot of brush.

The old stone wall, crumbling.

Diamonds and rust.

Nothing like a country walk on a Sunday.
I think the orange berries are the bittersweet vine.
If it is you can make wonderful wreathes by just twisting a length of it is a circle a few times.
We used to do that when I lived in Long Island

they look like kumquats to me.
very pretty.
I love the last picture a lot.
I wonder if you are walking your farm in a farewell walk capturing memories to take with you when you leave there for your next home.

your new header is lovely too.

Is the water the same well you've photographed before?

Those orange berries are really pretty! I hope they are bittersweet as ewix suggested, those dry so wonderfully...

Persimmons, maybe? We had those when I was a kid, but I don't remember exactly how they looked.

I love old rusted metal things,,natural beauty at it's best!

I think ewix might be right about that being the Bittersweet vine. Remember it being in a movie years ago and I was so fascinated with it I wrote a little song about it on my guitar. Dont remember it now tho. I was a kid. :) Lovely walk. Thanks for sharing.

How great to walk on the property and see new things, or old things rediscovered. Just drying the berries/fruit in the house would be beautiful. Enjoy your exploring!

ewix, Welcome and thanks. actually these berries or whatever are larger than bittersweet. Wish there was some bittersweet as I do like to make wreaths.

Lynn, no this water I discovered isnt a well. I stuck a stick down there and it didnt go far. The other well is in the woods which I'm afraid to go into right now: hunters. If this is farewell, I dont know where hello is.

m.heart, these things are denser than bittersweet and larger. Almost like cherries or tiny apples.

persimmons--that'd be nice as you can make persimmon jam.

cris, how sweet. Id love to hear your song.

teri, they are wonderful, muted colors.

blue sky, we have had glorious, warm days here which invite walking.

Wonderful new header and selection of autumn photos Suki.
I would have bet the farm they were bittersweet until I enlarged the photo! They look like tiny crab apples. Whatever they are I hope they provide winter sustenance for the critters.

I did your page today. It's posted on the journal blog. I hope you like it!

love your pictures....the fruit looks like a cherry of some kind but i don't know about persimmons...be glad it isn't bittersweet which is pretty in wreathes but totally invasive and kills everything else in the area by strangling it! i know this first hand ;-)but it is a growing problem throughout new england--asian bittersweet has taken over our local and non invasive kind....

Pretty walk. I love those old stone walls. I remember seeing them everywhere up there.
Looks like a typical fall day in a beautiful area.

Hi Suki, love these pictures, especially the rust and stone/water. What a wonderful litte pool.
And the apples, I just discovered a tree like that here in the fields not far from my parent's house, with lots and lots of these little apples on it. Wild apples?:)
love

Oh what wonderful fall pictures, these sure set a mood of peace, beauty and serenity. I wonder if they uncovered a small underground spring bubbling to the surface? What lovely photos, thanks for sharing these!!
