This is not mating season as far as I know. But the other night I glanced out my window and saw a male and female turkey dancing out in the field. They circled around each other for hours. He was not all puffed up, but every now and then he opened his wing and whished it against her body. I heard soft humming clucks. At first they were close to the house, then they moved down the field until after quite a time they were out of sight. a sweet dance.

aaaaw sweet, i bet they are in love...sigh
Now how cool is this you were able to see this event. Clearly not everyone has had this chance! Maybe your turkey was younger and more shy than the one in the video. You never know what goes through that little bird brain of theirs! :-)
Hugs, Suki!
Oh that must have been special......
We don't have turkey here, only in the supermarket but not in the wild.
Lucky you to have witnessed this!
aaaw, what a special sight to see. Nature's TV through your window.
Oh, that is so neat. I guess it doesn't have to be mating seasons for a love dance to take place.
I believe your turkey is more highly evolved. He knows how to court a lady.
Oddly, this reminds me a bit of a dream I posted. When you have a chance, wander over and give your interpretation. You are so sensitive to such things, Suki.
Moments like that are gifts. They seem to appear just as we need them. Very nice visual Suki. I'm glad you were there!
