Interesting building. I cheated. I looked it up. :)) Would have never guessed that. Hows the house hunting going? Did your Son get his drivers licence?
cris, yes my son completed the arduous path to obtain his liscence. thank goodness. i am sick of househunting and have to take a break. thanks for asking.
I cheated too!! Wow, never would have guessed that one. I was going to say someone who makes rope or yarns. What a fabulous little building though. So typical New England and one of the charming things I love about that place ;)
Taking a break from househunting may be the right thing to do at the moment. Too much of something feels so burdensome and takes the fun out of it. Wishing you peace~
I'm not going to cheat though I am very curious - does it have to do with cords of wood? I hope so because I'd like to start calling J a "cordwainer" when he's stacking ours, lol.
Cordwainer: A man who makes cordarory pants; a cowboy who turns seniu into lassos. A roofer; A person who trains a breed of dog called Wainer; A man who trains dogs called Cords. A chimmney sweep; Take your pick. Will check in tomorrow to see how close you came to one of my answers!
That is a darling little building. I have no idea what a cordwainer is but it would be handy if it were a person that untangled jewelry chains that get knotted up and also strings of Christmas lights......but I have a little feeling that's not it!!!! I'm gonna wait patiently for the answer. I recall my mind getting overloaded with house searching, the details and stress combined. Good to take a break......often.
i think cords, ropes string...maybe he makes ropes..it's so good to just say STOP for a while. good for you.are you enjoying the frienship book pages. i got my first one today....eeeek it's soo exciting. i guess when i stop feeling this excitement then i may as well be dead!hugs and namaste.
Cute little building! And I mean little. I looked it up, too, and I don't see that in this building. So sorry that you are having such a difficult time with your house hunting. If it were me, I'd want every house I looked at. I love all houses. It's making them a home that I find hard.
lolo, I cant believe how many of you guys cheated. :) I tend to overreact to every house I see, I love many styles and types of houses. So, therefore, a break is called for before I give myself a NBD
M. Heart, that's a good guess re: cords of wood. I'm not saying it's a right guess, just a good one.
TeriC, yes it is good to step back or as my friend M used to say to "back off for awhile."
Hi Blue Sky, the answer will be here tomorrow actually.
Annie, I agree I thought this a darling building. right near a cottage I looked at for sale twice, however the second time showed what a shambles it is in so it's a no go.
Mim, I thought so too as my thought was as several suggested having to do with rope.
katie jane, i am not one to leap. i have liked any # of aspects of each house and find things to like in almost all of them but taking the leap that is hard. i love houses too and looking at houses. except now i am emotionally involved so it is harder.
I've heard of that occupation before... don't know what it is. Is a cordwain a thing? hmm... A cord is a measurement... wain? Wainscoting? It's a small building... I'll guess he makes molding.

Okay, I didn't look it up but after those comments I am going to. It iscertainly a well-constructed and interesting log building.
Sometimes stepping away from a problem reveals a lot more when you go back fresh. I hope that works for you.
I haven't a clue and I don't mind anticipation...will check back in five days...it had better be good!!ha
No idea, but I will wait for the answer...Sweet little building.
I'm heading straight to google...will be back

Marvelous building but I don't have a clue as to what it was originally used for.
Oh what a cute house, the kind of I dreamt of living in as a child.....I also dreamt of getting 10 children.
Glad both dreams didn´t come true. :)
How about your househunt? Are you close to finding something?
Take care!

Lynn, you are full of ideas!
artist unplugged, it would be handy to find an untangler for sure. I have no patience with such things myself.!
Lisa, stay tuned.
Marianne, ten children. My mom had 10 siblings and man was it hard on her, the eldest daughter cum mother.
This would make a cute writer's cabin.
soulbrush, have received only one page so far from Mim and immediately set to making my own with vigor. I await the next.
I thought rope too.

I'm totally clueless!
I love seeing history like this. A great little cottage. My guess was ropes also. Not a very inspired answer, but there it is. Will wait to hear.
I'd have sworn I left a comment here early this morning.
Right after I cheated.
(inquiring minds ya know?)
I too thought cords of wood.
Rest easy, your house will be ready when you are.

Back from Google. HA! My great grandfather was one!
it's something sexual! i just know it!
(there she's goes again: that kj is so immature and developmentally arrested...)
