glorious Cape Cod

I arrived last Friday (not yesterday) to stay for a few days on the Upper Cape where I lived from 1978-2005. Everywhere I went I ran into friends and folks I know. Here is one!

This ferry is returning from the Vineyard. My friend C and I were eating dinner on the dock at some picnic tables. Fried clams. Yum.

a fishing vessel on return home. I stayed one night in a B and B. Delightful and the owner was lovely. Then two nights with friend C. We drove by a number of houses for sale. We called the listing Realtor about a condo in downtown Falmouth but....$259,000!! Plus the $300/month fee. The realtor came right out to show it to us though, and it was nice but goodness....and these are the down prices.

The harbor in North Falmouth. Then on last monday I drove down cape to my friend D's. I am here alone house and cat sitting in a gorgeous home on the water. I have looked at two homes for sale down here. On Friday I drove back to the upper cape and looked at five houses. Some cute places but the prices are still getting me down frankly. That's the fact I have to accept. To be on the Cape will cost lots more than to remain in New Hampshire. OK after days of rain the sun is out and it is Saturday. I'm off to a few yard sales. Talk to you soon. Suki

Holy Moly, those are depressing prices. But what I am learning is that miracles do happen. Hold the tension. Hugs, K

Sorry the prices are so out of range. Frankly, for California those prices are LOW. But I understand if you don't have it you don't have it. Drats!!!
It is such a beautiful area. I do hope something turns up. Is there anything close to the Cape, but is not ON the Cape that is more doable?

It sure looks like a wonderful place to be, and you have met so many old friends.
I hope you will find something a little more in your range!
Please stay there...... :)

Take care and enjoy your visit there!

hi there--why not come painting with us in wellfleet on thursday? i have plenty of materials ;-)

there are tons of houses selling for less than 200,000 on the cape--check tomorrow's paper for the actual sales, not the asking prices.

there are several houses in my neighborhood that need work but will probably sell around 100,000--they are probably not what you want at this stage but don't assume the asking price has any bearing on reality around here. things are selling LOW

call me--my phone is on my website or email me ;-)

Oh, this all looks so lovely and I can so see why you would want to live there. I do wish something would work out for you. A long time ago we found reasonable rentals in Connecticut. Not so far away.
We also lived in Salem, right off the harbor in a nice old rental. I loved it. Don't know what it's like now. Hope you find something you like, but in the meantime just enjoy yourself.

A beautiful place and one that seems to tug at your heart, Suki. Real estate there must be a great investment, in the long run.

Suki, I've wanted to top by and catch up for so long!
I know your heart is pulled to the Cape.
I believe you'll find a way to live there. I truly do.

Today (driving to Nebraska) I told my husband one of the first things I want when we get "home" is fried clams!!

You're a girl after my own heart ;)

~peace~
