Scraps and jottings

Continued working in my visual journal. Micron pen, paper scraps, flowers I pressed this summer, rubber stamp, glitter.

Watercolor, paper scraps, flower petals, micron pen. Mostly I used acrylic matte medium for glue.

I don't do these pages every day, but I have a big pad of paper on my easel on which I make one or two marks a day.

wonderful pages, Suki. I love the vibrant blue in the first one, tha graphical look and the little women portrait is beautiful too! In the second page I love the harmony of the colors and the composition, the dark house, which has gold on it and the little colorful leaves. A cozy and elegant house! Have a good day,
love

Suki, I love your expression....'it takes me beyond my mundane self'! This is so true, if we can get ourselves to plunge into art each day, we can escape and get into another place, where we live this instant and nothing else,
thanks for that sentence!

Suki, these are really beautiful. They are so you and combine all of the art you love so much! I love them...the house is telling, isn't it?

Like Andrea, finding art taking us beyond ourselves encourages us to join a journey wherever we are an in whatever state our head might be delving into from time to time, is true for me.

I really do look forward to more of these wonderful compositions...and seeing your mark making if you are willing to share.

Have a Beautiful Day, Suki!

What delicious pages! I love seeing journals evolve. What's fun is to go back and read them some time later to see what we've been through and where life has taken us since.
The house is wonderful. The little flower petals are a great touch!

Suki, Amazon just sent me an email with books I might be interested in. One of them was "Wabi Sabi for Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers."
Just had to tell you about it! They also have one for writers.

Thank you for sharing your pages. What a lovely way to create your journal, not just expression with words but also with color, shapes and texture. Lovely.

This is fun. Looks like it is just enought to keep you tuned in with creating.
What are you packing? off to the side you said, packing, packing and packing. Is this your Mothers things?

what a good idea to have it up where it is constantly in your eyesight and then to add to it every day. i like them, but that little woman is adorable.

I love your little lines and circles borders around the first one, Suki. Really charming.

your WV is "cococa" ...have some cocoa and stay warm! :)

Andrea, thank you. The woman is actually from a buddha head rubber stamp that didnt completely stamp down. Thanks for reflecting on my "mundane" statement.

Kim thanks for your comment and reflections, as always making me reflect back. I may show the mark making thing tomorrow.

Annie, I love house shapes too. As if they will magically manifest for me the home I seek.

Hi Babs, thanks. I liked the girl with the sandals too. I keep envisioning the beauty of Cape Cod, the ocean, the sun glistening.

Laurel, I own the Wabi-Sabi for artists but didnt know about the one for writers! Thanks. I find the concept so interesting. You know I dont have many visual journals or sketchbooks from my past but I have boxes of handwritten prose journal which I never look at. Currently I have about three sketchbooks which maybe I should save so I can peruse them someday.

Hello Artist Unplugged, this is a new kind of journal for me although I have made many collages, not within a blank book. It is working for me at the present moment, which is good as I am not getting much other artwork done.

Britt-Arnhild, I hope you have a wonderful creative weekend!

Cris, I am packing some of mom's things but also have begun sorting and discarding and packing my own things. I do not plan to leave here until spring but I like to get things into order way ahead.

Suki, this is great. I think what I like about it is that it is exciting and free. I love mixed media. I don't do it often but I have beads, ribbon etc I could use sometime.

Thanks Lisa. I like mixed media quite a bit and it's just what I need to do right now to feel creative.

KJ thanks a lot.

Hi Suki,
I'm catching up. I enjoyed your interview and more wonderful collages. I'd like a house like that, covered in spirals. (smile) The Mark A Day is a great project for me. I don't have to plan or find a block of uninterrupted time to draw... it sort of just happens!
