A mark a day keeps the doldrums away

I've had this pad of paper propped on my easel all week. Each day I made some marks on it with my brush pen. Those small marks I made all on one day. Then over several days I painted on it with acrylics. It is not yet finished. I don't know what it is either, except for---a mark a day.

I will be away today at a free writing workshop at the library. So I wont get to read your posts until Sunday. Take care, Suki

Very mysterious! Looks a bit like a crypt, but magical. Enjoy the workshop today!

How fun to see what develops here.

Hi Suki,
You started with marks and lines and then painted, great idea. I started with marks and lines and then filled in with colored pencil sticks. Because of the cold weather, I see this as a square igloo.

I find my mood is different depending on the day or the time of day. My mood or music effects the mark I make. I'll start another tomorrow.

I like the idea of adding marks and bits of color as the mood move you! It looks as though we're peering through a curtain blowing in the breeze. Could this be a doorway to your future? I guess we'll have to wait and see what develops.
I hope the workshop is invigorating!

This is fun. Looks like a very feminine helmet with a hole for the eye on the side with eye lashes coming out. LOL well I'm not quite awake this morning yet. :)))
Hope the class was fun.

I see myself looking out the window to a very icy snowy cold cold day and that is an igloo out there with some fanciful iron work around it or perhaps that is simply the wind curling around it. Yes, the wind! I don't want to be out in the cold that is for sure!
The orange is the indoor warmth, a fire burning reflected off the curtains. Safe and cozy. The dark spots are ashes floating through the room.

I hope you are enjoying your writing class.

Also, thanks for your terrific feedback on my Relaxation CD.
Hope you like my taking over the interpertation of YOUR ART WORK!!!
;-)

What a wonderful approach to painting and to life. "A Mark a Day." Before bed you ask yourself, "Did I make my mark, today? (metaphoric of course) I like the idea! Have a good experience at the workshop!

Beautiful blue sky and white snow...the orange and the white shape could be any number of things from igloo, doorway, curtain, carriage with wings but whatever it is... it sure has magic!
Hope the writing workshop is wonderful!

An icy doorway, leading into a warm, toasty core.

Free writing sound like fun!

this idea interests me too, not sure i would have the patience to keep something going for so long though.

I see the view from out of the back window of something vehicular. Definitely something warm and safe. Leaving behind the cold,,wintry scene.
Could be literal, as in Spring coming,,,or you could have painted your future in these markings and paint.
Hoping the workshop was beneficial.

This is good, a mark a day. I'm trying to adhere to "draw something every day", myself. Maybe a mark is all I'll manage, but I'm trying to keep at it.
I wonder what yours will turn into. Maybe just a nice abstract painting. I'm interested to hear about your workshop at the library.

Suki, I love how this has turned out. I am not sure if I see anything concrete, but I do see a lot of feelings which seem to emerge in the lines and the colors. You might find it interesting to watch the weight of the lines you make in relationship to what you are feeling. I often find a relationship there.

So much fun...and speaking of fun, enjoy the workshop!

Cool idea. Will be interesting to see the finished product :-) How long will you go on?

Irene. I decided this morning to leave this picture behind, actually and begin a new one.

Thanks everyone for your interpretations. I guess I meant it to be a temple shape. But I do think it ended up looking like an igloo.
