These are my first attempts at eyes closed drawing with the right hand. Y'day I posted my second attempts.
Here I was envisioning concrete items such as a banana, orange and glass of water.
It is my desire to visit everyone in the big draw and comment. However, my hand rebelled yesterday. Maybe it has carpool tunnel? I dont know. And I know I am neglecting the folks I regularly visit due to my visiting so many new folks in the big draw. So I just wanted to let you know I will return, but guess I have to hold back a little bit when my hand complains. And wanted to let you all know I really appreciate your comments on my drawings. Be well, Suki

Hi Suki, It's funny to see how your hand seems to have loosened up from the first to the second drawings! Love this, it is great,
and oh, yes, every day we have to neglect people here in blogland, or else we cannot draw or paint or quilt or sculpt of whatever anymore:), on the other hand, everybody is like that so it is not upseeting,
Love
Andrea
PS: oh and I hope your hand will soon be better, perhaps it needs just a break?
(I wonder what carpool tunnel is? this must be a funny Suki-idea?)
love
Andrea
I'm having the same problem keeping up with the comments. There are so many new people!
It's very cool, but a little overwhelming.
Suki, I am glad you are taking a break and allowing your hand time to heal. I think the time will make a difference.
I have to agree with Andrea about the interest in the loosing of your hand from the first drawings to the second ones.
You and Andrea have really inspired me to do this, as well. I have posted a few examples on my blog today.
Relax and have a good weekend, Suki!
That was sweet Suki, I do miss you, but I want your finger to get better. I too have to neglect people on a daily basis, that is just life. No worries. Fun drawings...
Happy Birthday - I'm afraid a bit late. Loved the picture of you as a child.
Most interesting drawings.
These are really kind of amazing. I have to try it. Great for resting your hand.
Hope your hand and finger is getting better soon.
I see the food element comes thru even with eyes closed. lol
Andrea, Carpul Tunnel syndrome is a real thing... caused by inflamed ligaments that press on the nerve in the wrist and cause you to have pain and swelling in your hand. Working the wrists to much can cause this. like people who type alot of use a teller machine, or hammer alot like my Dad did. He had to have both hands fixed at the same time. ouch.
Oh Suki, I'm sorry I didn't know that it was a real "thing" the carpool tunnel thanks Cris for telling me.
So I hope it will soon be gone
love
Andrea
Really enjoyed seeing these non dominant drawings.
Beautiful, beautiful photos of you & your Mom!
Sorry I wasn't here to sing Happy Day to you & pass you some cake,,,hope it becomes your best year ever!
I tend to get tendonitis when over using my hands,,it's a lot like carpul Tunnel,,,caused by repititious movement,,and very painful. Whatever your ailment is, I hope it leaves soon,,,,we don't always realize just how amazing our bodies are until something isn't working right.
Sometimes I'm amazed with how for so many years we've abused certain areas,,,,,that they continue to work at all!
I love all these blind study pictures...makes mine with open eyes seem to fit in to the mix better. LOL
I too am visiting WAY MORE blogs than before the Big Draw and finding some awesome art and very nice people as well. It's fun and keeping up is a real challenge.
Ilove the new scroll from Blogger that tells me who just blogged. It helps keep me up to date. Tomorrow is babysitting day however so I may not get on at all. If so see ya Sunday!
To see and feel a different way...I am at peace when I know others out there are trying.
Andrea, as Cris says, carple (sp?) tunnel syndrom is something that happens to the nerves in yr hand when you do a lot of handwork. Thanks for noticing that my hand seems to have loosened up. That's good to know. Have a great weekend in Paris.
Rowena, I love the big draw and will try to keep commenting as best I can.
Hey Kim, I checked out your drawings too. They are inspirations to continue onward!
Thanks for understanding annie.
okay okay i am going to try this non dom hand thingie tomorrow! ..hey watch that finger/hand thing, I've had two carpool tunnel operations, so rest it now...we will wait for you...we know ehere you are...rest dear heart rest!
Elizabeth, thanks for the b-day greetings. Remember it's a b-day month so your greetings werent late!!!
Teri yes, I did a few more right handed drawings today.
Cris, thanks for the good wishes for my hand.
Andrea, you couldnt know I was playing though with a real thing. I call it car pool tunnel. I suppose I shouldnt joke as it is a serious ailment.
Babs, good to hear from you again. Thanks re: photos. Maybe my hand thing is more tendonitis, as you say. Also I strained my finger doing something or other. And got a bee sting on same hand. So universe is talking to me. It's true we take our bodies for granted. every day we should thank them for all they do for us.
I had fun doing the right handed drawings. they feel rather childlike.
And humbling.
Lynn I had noticed that just about everywhere I visited, you had been there before me! You are a whizz. Have fun babysitting.
Mermaid, such lovely words you write.
Soulbrush, oh you poor dear. Two operations for carpul. That's a lot. Thanks for your empathy and admonitions to rest. what I'm ending up doing is using my right hand for everything far more than before. (Left being the dominant hand)
Suki, Sorry about this ongoing hand problem...slowing you down. Your drawings are wonderful. I'm not familiar with this book on drawing. I like working in an abstract way. I once read that all art needs the foundations of structure, unity and consistency. I think we know even blindfolded what is balanced and interesting. When you add a spot of color, it's a great way to further balance. A drawing a day is a great commitment and I'm so enjoying checkig in to see the latest!

Oh, Suki! Happy Birthday, late. I'm just now going over everyone's blogs and catching up. So sorry I missed the big day. Please forgive me.
Like you, I too am a lefty and drawing with my right hand is not so good. I can write so you can read it, but not draw. Hell, I can't even draw with my LEFT hand!!!
Love your baby picture, and your mom kind of looks like my mom back then.
Oh Suki! You are so sweet and fun! You are so loyal with your visits, as I wish I could be if I had more time. I have had minimal time this week for the computer and even now I have a lap top in the kitchen waiting for supper at close to 10pm!!!
I love this concept Suki - you are brave to try it. I too am having trouble keeping up with it all!
Thanks Mary Ann, what you say about art is always interesting and thoughtful. I found a drawing a day very very hard last year. I had just moved in with my Mom then and left behind my Cape Cod life. And my boyfriend. And all my friends of 30 years. But it was good for me to do it. This year it doesnt feel as hard although doing something consistently once a day like this is a challenge.
Katie Jane, remember it is a birthday month so you arent late in your wishes. thank you. The whole world is arranged for right handed people. Only left handers know this. Potato peelers, scissors, door handles. So it's an interesting world out there.
Hi Karen. glad you could stop by. You have a busy life with your young child and job and all the artwork you do. i guess we all do what we can. Have a fun weekend.
Mim, glad you could stop by. Enjoy the gorgeous weather.
Blogging can be time consuming sometimes and with a hurting hand it is a problem. See you around later Suki!
Love these simple experiments!
thanks Marianne.
