Art Money

I've either completed or am in the process of completing 18 Art Monies. The above is not quite complete. I made this toward the end of the series though, when my creative juices were flowing. I ink jet printed two of my photos onto vellum. The words are from an old book of Scandinavian Historical Tales I just purchased. The bottom strip is from a pen and ink sketch. I like the black and white effect quite well.

Another not quite done, with vellum photo and more pen and brush ink sketch.
Not quite done. Background is a piece of handmade paper. I like the uneven edges.

Color photo on vellum. The edges of the photo curled. This is incomplete.

In process and not yet glued up.

The rest shown I consider complete.

Now the question is what to do with them. I can't decide whether to list them on the art money site. I'd rather not give over my banking information. Also, how can these be worth $35? They are too big for ATC's. So, what are they? Merely amusement for a restless mind?

These are wonderful Suki. My favorite it the one with the little bag of fairy dust attached.
I think they are worth 35 dollars, but will people pay that, hard to tell unless you try. Perhaps put them in a package deal?

I hadn't heard of artmoney until now......I think you should put them there. Have you sold items there before? The pieces are really nice....

Annie, it is the Art Money website that affixes the monitary value of $35 American to the art money. And some of the art money are little paintings. Anyway thanks for your thoughts.

Paula, don't you think art money is cool? No, I havent sold anything on that site. Or listed anything, yet. Thanks.

I wouldnt give my banking info out these days to just anyone. to much Identy theft going on.
Put them on your ETSY shop and see if they sell there. They are very good. Nothing is ever a waste of time to do or for no reason.
Are you doing these in your new studio inside?

Suki, you have been wonderfully busy on these rainy days you've had. (I wish we could get some rain.)

Do you ever do art shows? It may be too late in the year to sign up for any now, but maybe you could still get into some holiday shows. I think your work is just great and I would most certainly pay $35 for them.

Can you ship them to any shops on Cape Cod to sell on consignment? Do you still know people there? Seems like they would be lightweight enough to ship safely.

Or possibly consign to some shops nearby where you live.

Just a thought.

Suki, I was struck this morning by your second black and white piece...you have a lovely sense of composition! Art and money are a tough mix...I try to stay optimistic. Has your ETSY shop done well?

M. Heart, thanks. I forget I have this vellum and I love it to, esp with the photo printed on.

Cris, yes am doing all paper work now in my new studio which is shaping up. I still have my wax stuff and my oil paints out in the workshop though and will keep them there till the winter winds howl.

Katie Jane, thanks for all the great ideas for getting my stuff out there. I used to do craft shows and recently spoke to someone about a little fair that happened a few miles away last year. I need to get binding some books though if I do that. I have done Waldorf fairs a number of times and they have a Waldorf school fairly nearby that has a holiday fair but not sure If I'd have enough stuff. It is an expensive fair to be in. We'll see. Thanks for your vote of confidence.

Thanks Mary ann re: composition. Hmmm, a natural not learned thing. The etsy shop has brought in a few sales. I set it up without expectations though, just for the fun of it. And for having a place to display what I make. So even one sale is exciting to me. though I've madfe a couple. I'm not highly competitive.

still don't really get it , and what is ATC? Whatever your money is beautiful and certainly worth the money. I think you can charge more for your art.
I looked at the site and still I don't exactly know how it works this money.......
It would be nice to exchange this kind of money
Take care!
