Happy July 4th

to all my American friends. And happy everyday to everyone else. I will be back, maybe even later today, to post a longer post but for now have some good cookouts, visits with friends and relations and fireworks, if you like them (I myself am not partial to them, too loud). (Though I like the lights part).

High Suki, Happy July 4th!!! I wondered what my American friends may do on this day. Oh I know it is a holiday, which is great, and you tell us that people go and meet each other, and there are Fireworks:) I'm like you, (and the animals:) I like the lights, a lot, but I loath the noise...
thanks so much for teaching me all about Superman and the phone booths!:)
love
Andrea

Hi Andrea. I do think it's a big day and weekend for family gatherings. Cookouts and as I indicated fireworks and parades and so forth. Thanks for the happy wish. love, Suki

Human Being, thanks again. We celebrate our independence from England. And the creation only a few years ago of what is now called the USA.

Mary have a good cookout on Sunday. Sounds fun. Here it is just mom and me. SIL is not well today to bro is quite busy with her. They even had the nurse come out briefly.

Happy fourth to you too Suki. I, like you, do not like the noise(nor do my animals). After my exciting day yesterday I think I will take it easy :-).

Annie, yes you take it easy. You can think about all the excitement of the previous day. Really, enough there to treasure for awhile.

Chewy, the same to YOU.

I love fireworks, despite the noise. And what I love even more, but am sometimes embarrassed by my emotion, are the 4th of July marching bands playing all those old american type tunes. Grand old flag, and yankee doodle. Don't know why but watching and listening to a marching band brings tears to my eyes! Wierd.

Happy day after 4th!

Fy thanks for stopping by. Hmmm, you, a Brit saying happy 4th when it celebrates our independence from you guys. that's pretty neat.

Mim, I agree that Marching Bands are somehow moving. and thrilling to hear the horns and drums and traditional songs. Could that be part of it, so many of us share a history, national history,in those songs.
