The March of the Wild Turkeys

Yesterday about 20 turkeys strolled through the field. Two were fighting, or were they courting. At any rate it didn't go so well and the male strutted off with his tail feathers in a ruff and the female (these are guesses) marched back into the woods then later followed the gaggle (is that what you call a group of turkeys?) I found this picture on the net and plan to sketch it a few times re: my painting with turkeys.

Dont you just love watching the antics of all birds. They are so interesting. Even more so spring time. I cant wait to see more of your painting with the Turkeys in it.

I get lots of turkeys in my back yard and am always facinated with their wierd galloping run - frantic rushings and then calm acceptance.
