Tagged

Several days ago Andrea tagged me in a challenge to write 7 random or weird facts about myself.

I wear my sox inside out so the seam ridge doesn't bother my toes.

For years I have bought most of my clothes at thrift stores except for unmentionables and shoes.

For years I have not watched TV news. Too much blood, gore and mayhem which repeats itself in one form or another year after year with different names. I feel much better for not watching. I listen now and again to NPR (National Public Radio) so as not to be a total ignoramus.

I prefer to walk rather than drive. Best place to live for me is a little village where I can walk to the grocery, video store, post office and suchlike. After 10 years my last car had 30,000 miles on it.

My favorite author is Cora Sandel, a Norwegian writer who lived in Paris in the 1920's. The last two novels of her Alberta Trilogy are set in Paris. I have read them many times, have recorded myself reading part of one book and have marked out Alberta's "haunts" hoping someday to seek them out in person.

I nearly died when I was 5ish from a hemmorage after a tonsillectomy but other than to give birth to my son I have never been in a hospital since.

I am brainwashed by Svaroopa yoga. I truly believe, now, about keeping my spine open, as they say. Lots of things close the spine from physical stress to emotions. I can feel it when my spine starts to close. The marvelous, free solution? DO MORE YOGA.

I pass this challenge to list 7 random or weird things about yourself to anyone who wishes to do so.

Yours was Interesting. Mine was kind of boring. You said you like to walk rather then drive. Walking is healthy for you.. good for you.

We have a lot in common - I buy a lot of clothing from op shops, hate watching the evening news, I like to walk and I am a Yoga nut - I do it every day and fall apart without it.

Thanks Cris and Patti. I answered, I think, on both of yr blogs. I get a little lost sometimes with the responding. But as I said, Cris, I didnt think your list at all boring, in fact quite interesting. And Patti, how can anyone surivive without the resource of Yoga. I do it every day too and sometimes twice. Hope we can take a walk together some day and buy some lovely thrift shop clothes. I love to go thrift shopping with friends. Such fun. Trying on all sorts of far out outfits.
