Yet another book

Yesterday I checked out A Three Dog Life by Abigail Thomas from the library. I finished reading it this morning, it's short, just 182 pages. It is a series of essays about her life after her husband was hit by a car and became brain damaged. Although I thought it could use a titch of editing, as she repeats a couple of scenarios a few times, it's very good.

Thomas is the daughter of Lewis Thomas. She's written a novel and several books of short stories and another book of essays. She's 63ish and writes well about the changes that come with getting older. About time, about her dogs and her writing. Most of her adult life she lived in NYCity but she now lives in Woodstock, NY to be near where her husband lives in a facility for brain damaged persons.
